Upcoming Court Date on Torture   

 December 8, 2006
 Chief Judge Thomas Hogan of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia will hear arguments by lawyers on behalf of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, Generals Ricardo Sanchez and Janis Karpinski, and Colonel Thomas Pappas, who are trying to dismiss our lawsuit which seeks to make each of them personally pay financial compensation to our clients, who were subjected to torture while prisoners in U.S. military detention facilities in Afghanistan and Iraq.


Upcoming Court Date on Marriage    

 December 5, 2006
 On either December 4 or December 5, the Maryland Court of Appeals (in Annapolis) will hear the State’s appeal of Judge Brooke Murdock’s decision declaring that the Equal Rights Amendment to the Maryland Constitution requires county clerks to issue marriage licenses to otherwise-eligible same-sex couples.
